Ayurvedic medicine is considered to be the oldest medical system in the world, embraced by India thousands of years ago. Ayurvedic is stemmed from the word Ayurveda which is defined as a natural system of medicine. The word ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit word ayur, meaning life, and veda, meaning science or knowledge, translating to the science or knowledge of life.
This holistic medicinal modality combines products, like plants, animals, metal and minerals, with diet, exercise, and lifestyle to uphold the belief that health and wellness depend on the proper balance between mind, body and soul. Those who practice ayurveda believe the idea behind disease and illness is due to an imbalance or stressor in a person’s consciousness.
Ayurveda teaches that three energies, called doshas, form characteristics of what is called a prakruti, a combination of the physical and psychological unique attributes of a person. There are three doshas: vata, pitta, and kapha.
The first energy is vata meaning “the subtle energy movement.” This energy stems from space and air elements and is considered to be the most influential of all three. Vata controls the body’s breathing, blood flow, heart function, and bodily waste. It seems that this energy, unlike the other two, has great balance between thought and emotion. It fuels creativity, activity, and a clearer understanding.
The pitta energy means “warmth” and “transformation.” This energy is based from the fire and water elements and rules the digestive and metabolic processes in the body. It controls the small intestine, eye, hair and skin. Eating sour or spicy foods and spending too much time in the sun can disrupt this energy.
The last energy, kapha, means “that which binds things” and relates to mucous, lubrication, and carrying vital nutrients throughout the body. This energy can offer endurance, physical and psychological strength and stability, and is governed by the water and earth elements. Kapha encourages positive emotions and controls our weight and immune system.

During this imperative time in the history of public health, we find it vital to keep our clients and fellow friends in the know with up-to-date notice and guidance. As we find ourselves entrenched in a significant political wave of presidential changes, we still prioritize the need to provide public health facts that are vital for all people such as local allocation of vaccination opportunity. With a positive outlook, we lean on public officials such as the governor to lead the way in making sound decisions in public health safety by bringing the vaccines local to your neighborhoods.
Ron DeSantis, Governor of the State of Florida, made a public announcement this week, that all Publix supermarkets in Palm Beach County are now offering those, who qualify, an opportunity to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Before you do this, it is recommended that you speak with your physician or healthcare provider prior to scheduling an appointment. The link to the Publix COVID-19 vaccine webpage is https://www.publix.com/covid-vaccine/florida and you must make an appointment to be seen.
As Shawn Klyachman (featured left), Pharmacist at Publix Super Markets said earlier this week after beginning to administer the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine; “[I’m] Proud to be part of such a tremendous company, team, and profession. Honored to be fulfilling my oath as a pharmacist and being part of the solution”.
To receive the vaccine, you must fit into one or more of these three criteria and also a Florida resident:
Even though a vaccine has been developed and is being administered, we must continue to remain diligent in health efforts, safe and to protect ourselves from others, especially those who feel unwell. This means wearing a mask in public, social distancing from others by at least six feet, washing your hands frequently, and being mindful of yourself and those around you.
Organizations, groups, and businesses countrywide are encouraging everyone to get the COVID-19 vaccine, some do that simply by educating and informing, but one organization decided to encourage another way. Although not in the great State of Florida, a creative yet controversial campaign in Washington D.C has stemmed from a group called DC Marijuana Justice. Their group is dedicated to “fighting for equal rights for cannabis users, growers, and their families.” The campaign is aimed to dispense free marijuana to those who obtain their vaccination: advertised as “Joints for Jabs.”
In Palm Beach County, there are “67 Publix pharmacies in Palm Beach County will have the vaccine” and a total of “220 Publix pharmacies across 17 Florida counties.” – DeSantis
Instead of waiting on a long line to get a COVID test, Quality Health Care Concierge is able to assist by sending a Registered Nurse to your home, office, or location of choice to conduct a Private Mobile Rapid COVID Test in the South Florida area.
Updated January 27th, 2021:
In a County Commission meeting on Tuesday the 26th, Dr. Alina Alonso confirmed that Publix will, as soon as early February, be the sole distributor for COVID-19 vaccines in Palm Beach County. With an estimated 90% of the county’s 400k senior citizens living within 1 1/2 miles of Publix, this will allow for Publix to be the mass distributor without having the County continue in building the distribution channel. It’s important to note that Palm Beach Commissioners have expressed their frustration and are planning to write a letter to DeSantis urging him to reconsider this decision.

Traditional medicine is a great tool to diagnose and treat our physical injuries, but what can we do to treat our mental and emotional injuries?
Spiritual healing is a type of energy medicine that utilizes a person’s mind, body and soul to heal their mental, physical or emotional state through alternative therapies. Energy medicine is an alternative medicine that channels healing energy into a patient to induce positive physical, mental or emotional results. Spiritual healing focuses on relaxing the body and releasing tension to stimulate self-healing. It is said that sickness begins in the mind, or at a deeper level within the spirit, and is often the only place where healing can begin.
To break it down, the word spiritual originates from the Latin word “spiritus” which means “breath of life.” It relates to the human spirit, or soul, rather than material or physical things. Healing is a process of becoming healthy again which can be done through many therapies involving the transfer of energy such as healing touch, crystal healing, acupuncture, Reiki, or Qigong. Combining the healing side of traditional medicine and the spiritual side of non-traditional medicine can appeal to anyone who is interested in an alternative, holistic side of patient care.
Thousands of years ago, Asian healers established twelve pathways of energy throughout the human body connecting our organs with our limbs. They taught their patients how to slow down, concentrate on their breathing, learn how to meditate and relax, and those patients would recover from serious illnesses. Spiritual healing can be used by anyone, for anyone to positively affect their mental, physical, and emotional life. It can reduce mental and physical pain, deepen inner peace, develop a connection with the Universe, as well as, increase vitality, inspiration, joy, security, and peace of mind.
Quality Health Care Concierge is dedicated to helping our clients with their everyday tasks by focusing on the alternative, holistic side of medicine.
